Encinitas Community Park Grand Opening!

Come out this Saturday January 10th and enjoy a special “Day in the Park” at the brand new Encinitas Community Park. The celebration will be from 10am until 2pm hosted by the Mayor of Encinitas along with the City Council. Come enjoy a community picnic complete with hot dogs and children’s games. There will also be a pet health expo along with youth sports demos and pro-skater meet & greets! Oh and there is also a hint about a commemorative give-a-way. There will be three ribbon cutting ceremonies for the parks special features.

Schedule of ribbon cutting ceremonies:

      • Skate Plaza -10am
      • Maggie Houlihan Memorial Dog Park -11am
      • Sports Fields -12pm

Park Features
So a little overview about this great new park. The feature I know my family has been waiting for is the new Skate Plaza! The Skate Plaza is a 13,000-square feet skate area with a bowl and plenty of street skate style. Novice and pro alike are enjoying this new skate spot. The community park also features a 2-acre Dog Park which boost a large turf area and a show circle. The park itself has many paved walking paths and benched areas in it’s al-coves. There are two public restroom buildings and a Sports area. The Sports Fields has a dedicated soccer field, 3 multi-use fields, and plenty of open space for unrestricted play.

So if you can’t make it out for the Grand Opening ceremony this is still a great park to check out!
