5:20pmPST Update!: Tickets are on sale now!!!!!

Just yesterday Star Wars released the official poster for Episode VII: The Force Awakens. And everyone is talking about it. As many like myself are pointing out a big character is missing from this new poster leading to much speculation as to Luke Skywalkers role in the upcoming installment. The unveiling of this new image also came with news of an exclusive look at the film would premiere today!

Tonight during ESPN’s Monday Night Football program the newest trailer will air during halftime. This is a can’t miss event for any Star Wars fan. Disney and Star Wars Instagram accounts have both teased parts of this new trailer.

But that’s not the only excited news that came along, tickets for the movie are also going on sale today too! With only 2 months left until the theatrical release fans will be able to be ahead of the line with this earlier ticket sale. Tickets will go immediately on sale following tonight’s special trailer release.

The World Premiere has recently been announced that it will be on December 14th in Los Angeles. While the official release date of the film is December 18th (US) with the first screenings beginning on December 17th at 7pm. This is a great move as Star Wars is a big hit amount families. The star studded event will be a highly coveted event but there are still so many great events happening for those who can’t make the World Premiere. Below is all the information of marathons and theater events happening in honor of The Force Awakens!

El Capitan Theatre

The El Capitan is always the place to be for big Disney films. On top of seeing the film at this awesome theater attendees will also be able to view the costume and prop display from the film. There will be a new laser lightsaber curtain show before the film. And opening day guests can pick up an exclusive and limited supply collectable BB-8 button.

Regal Cinemas

Every Saturday (December 19th to January 9th) is Star Wars Saturday at Regal Cinemas. The first 500 movie goers to the IMAX showings will recieve collectable ticket stubs that feature unique Force Awakens artwork. Each week will debut new art.

AMC Theaters

Sunday’s will be Star Wars Sunday’s at AMC Theaters from December 20th until January 10th. And the first 10 guest to purchase IMAX 3D tickets for The Force Awakens will recieve an exclusive print, a new poster will be revealed each week. There will be some great celebrations at Disney located AMC Theaters as well. Tickets for these galatic celebrations can be purchase at AMCtheaters.com/StarWarsWDW

Cinemark

Recieve exclusive 3D Star Wars glasses by one of three ways. 1.) Attend a Star Wars Marathon Event on December 17th. 2.) Attend the first screening of The Force Awakens in Cinemark XD on December 17th. 3.) Or purchase the Star Wars concession combo that comes out this November.

Fandango

All ticket purchasers will be entered into an out of this world sweepstakes. The prize being a chance to attend the World Premiere. And if you purchase within the first 24 hours of ticket sales you will increase your chances. There will also be 10 “runner-up” prize packs collectibles for either the Dark Side or the Light Side.

Star Wars Marathons

This ultimate fan experince is happening at select theaters where you can view the Saga in its entirety. View the first six Star Wars films in digital 2D and then enjoy The Force Awakens in 3D! Attendees recieve a special lanyard feature exclusive marathon artwork.
