Happy Birthday Disneyland!
Today 60 years ago Disneyland opened it’s Castle gates for the very first time. July 17th, 1955 started it all for amusement parks around the world. Walt Disney’s dream was brought to life, as a place for people of all ages to come and experience a little magic. It paved the way for more parks to be formed but none can quite match the magic that is Disneyland.
Since its Disney’s 60th Anniversary it means it’s time for diamonds. So the park, Downtown Disney and California Adventure have been decorated in honor of the Celebration and everywhere a diamond can be found from food to merchandise. I mean it wouldn’t be a Diamond Celebration without some bling. Sleeping Beauty’s Castle is draped in them and that makes it the perfect backdrop for a photo op. There are so many Diamond themed treats to enjoy it’ll be hard to just pick one. Along with the treats there is for a limited time speciality popcorn buckets and souvenir cups. Stop in any gift shop to find exclusive Celebration memorabilia from Diamond ears to trading pins.
Don’t miss out on the new nighttime shows as apart of the Anniversary Celebration. California Adventure’s World of Color takes viewers along Walt’s journey of imagination. Traveling from Walt’s earliest creations to the very first concepts of Disneyland to today’s magic and beyond! The show has been updated in extraordinary ways from larger than life screens to fire and laser effects and soaring fountains. Be apart of the show with World of Color light up ears.
Also be sure to catch the dazzling firework show Disneyland Forever. More than just your average firework show this is a spectacular celebration combining breathtaking pyrotechnics and visual effects. Disneyland Forever takes guest on a journey from Main Street USA through the worlds of Disney’s timeless tales.
Now guest’s can go on a special Hidden Mickey Quest, much like the Easter Egg search in spring. Looking for Mickey Quest has guests use a special Quest Guide to find Hidden Mickey’s throughout either park. Scratch off answers on the guide to reveal if you found the Hidden Mickey. Redeem your completed guide wether your answers are right or wrong for a surprise! Disneyland’s Guide can be purchased for $19.95 +tax and features 20 questions. California Adventure Parks Guide is $12.95 +tax and features 10 questions. Both are for a limited time while supplies last.
