Posted in Summer Fun!

School is out and now it is time to figure out activities and where to go with your kids this summer. Being outdoors is always my first option but sometimes the heat can be a little too hard for my little ones to handle. And sitting at home everyday is not going to work for my active kiddos. So it is great that Pump It Up offers Open Jump sessions. These sessions are a great deal ranging from $8 to $12 a child depending on if the session has a theme. This Wednesday’s theme at Pump It Up Murrieta is Ice Cream Party and it is from 1pm to 3pm. The cost is $10 per child and it includes bouncing, rock climbing and an ice cream sundae! These sessions fill up fast so call and reserve your child’s spot at 951-677-1933.  Also Pump It Up has new Imagination Blocks which are great for children to use their imaginations to create and play. Mixing play and education is always a plus in my book. Click here to find your nearest Pump It Up location.

Get jumping on this summer deal!

Lego Female Scientist Set

The newest Lego set scheduled to debut this Fall 2014. (stock image from online)

The newest Lego set scheduled to debut this Fall 2014. (stock image from online)

My daughter was recently working on her memory book for her first grade class. In it was the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?”. Normally she mentions a millions things and I tell her she can do anything if she works hard and does well in school. Well this time she answered just one thing, a scientist. There is such a drive right now to get young girls interested in science, technology, and math. To already hear my daughter taking an interest on her own is amazing and I will do all that I can to help this interest grow. The best way for young children is through play and using their imaginations. So with the announcement from Lego that the new set coming out this fall is a female scientist set this will only help girls take more interest in this field. So keep an eye out at stores for when this set hits the shelves, it is sure to be a big hit.

School is almost out which means it’s time to plan summer activities. An activity my kids love to do is to go see a movie. There’s just something about seeing a movie on the big screen, versus renting, as a reward for doing great in school this year. Plus with the heat it’s nice to relax in the air conditioned theater. What makes this all even better is the deals theaters are offering. So here are some deals for the movies this summer.

Enjoy the show!

Regal Theaters

For quite a few summers now my children have participated in our library’s summer reading. They love checking in weekly and collecting little prizes and spinning the wheel to win some great coupons for free food at local eateries. Be sure to also check out the story time events as well, it’s always fun to relax and listen to a story. I’ll keep an eye out for more reading programs but here are some to get started with.
