Temecula Blueberry Farm

Temecula Blueberry Farm

Temecula Blueberry Company’s farm is now open for the U-Pick season. A visit to the blueberry farm is a delightful little outing for the family this spring. My family decided to spend Mother’s Day checking out the farm for the very first time and of course pick some blueberries.

Temecula Blueberrry Farm

Blueberry Farm Info

The Blueberry Farm

It’s fairly easy to spot the farm when you are arriving by the large red barn style building. The barn is surrounded by a few fields of blueberry plants. The first stop when at the farm is at the small barn to pick up your bucket to collect your blueberries in. The cost of the blueberries is $5 per pint. *Important* Temecula Blueberry Farm accepts cash or check only!

Temecula Blueberry Company Chicken Coup

Temecula Blueberry Company's Piglet

The Blueberry Farm is also home to a few animals. The chicken coup was open for egg collecting during our visit and children where asked to help in the collecting (due to allergies we did not participate). There was also two adorable piglets there.

Buckets of berries

The Blueberry farm’s fields have plenty of berries to be picked. Picking is so easy and fun, just remember to stick to only “blue” blueberries as they are ripe and ready to eat right after washing them. Also please only pick what you plan to purchase.

Temecula Valley Family Fair *Review*

TV Family Fair

Today is the last day of the Temecula Valley Family Fair. I wanted to share my family’s fun day at the fair for anyone still thinking about going before the fair is gone!

TV Fair Ribbon Cutting

My kiddos and I attended opening day of the the fair and were able to watch the ribbon cutting ceremony. My daughter got to meet some of the very sweet Beaty Queens/Princesses. There wasn’t a big crowd yet so we had the place practically to our selves. Which was great since my kids, mainly the little guy, have a hard time waiting in long lines.

TV Fair Giant Wheel

TV Fair Carnival Area

Carnival Game Prizes

Childrens Coaster at the Fair

TV Fair Carnival Rides

Since we were in the Fair early my kids were the first to ride some of the rides. A couple times they were the only riders. Most of the rides were 3-4 tickets a person. Tickets are $1 each or 24 for $20. There is also an unlimited wrist band available for $30. I stuck with the $20 deal since there isn’t a lot of rides that both my kids could go on and I wasn’t planning on riding any myself. Unfortunately my little guy was too little to do the Giant Wheel, maybe next year.

Princesses at the Fair

Even at the fair we showed our Disney side and found all the princesses for a few photo ops. The Princesses were having a raffle to win a party with them so naturally my daughter had to enter.

TV Fair Fun

TV Fair Inflatables

By far my kids favorite area was the inflatables. It was only a cost of 1 ticket a bouncer to get in and the were able to go on each inflatable as much as they wanted. My son was content with the regular bounce houses. My daughter braved the large slides and obstacle courses.

TV Fair Butterfly Exhibit

Besides the Bricks 4 Kids exhibit, our favorite exhibit was the Butterfly tent. They were very active during our visit. And the volunteer was kind enough to left my daughter hold one very carefully. There was also a petting zoo that was free to enter. And one of the vendors was a local tortoise rescue with tortoise available for adoption right there.

Fair Treats

Being that the fair was here in Temecula Valley even though it is spring it can and was very hot! Luckily there where plenty of delicious vendors. The best part was seeing the Mustache Mikes cart who has allergy safe treats for my FPIES kiddo. Again our Disney side showed when we found the Dole Whip stand, my daughter very much enjoyed her treat.

Easter Bunny at the Fair

No Spring fair is complete without a visit with the Easter Bunny!

This was a fun little fair! Expensive but that’s how all fairs are. I think within the next few years the TV Fair will grow and expand. With more rides, attractions and vendors the TV Fair could be just as big as the San Diego Fair.

This is looking like the start of a new tradition for my family!

A wonderful new children’s play place has just recently opened in Murrieta. Imagine Me Grow is a place where children can let their imaginations take center stage. This little imagination town is a great safe place for little ones to play. There is a variety of shops on Main Street in this Imagination Town that let children explore the world of “grown-up” careers. Your little one can go to university, or run a bakery, take care of injured animals in the animal hospital, or prepare to save lives in the fire station. The possibilities are endless.

Pretend play at Imagine Me Grow

At this time Imagine Me Grow is only open to parties, play groups and field trips. But the possibility of open play hours may be an option in the future. But for now if you are interested in booking an event it is best to do soon as Imagine Me Grow is filling up with scheduled events.

Private Room at Imagine Me Grow

The staff at Imagine Me Grow handles all the party hassle to keep you stress free. They will set up, great party guests, and do the clean up! And you are more thank welcome to bring in decorations to have your own personal party theme.

Imagine Me Grow Grand Open House

Want to check out this amazing place before booking your next event? Well no problem! Imagine Me Grow is having a Grand Open House event Saturday March 22nd from 10am to 2pm. During the Grand Open House you will be able to walk through the imaginary town and meet a special hero. This is a FREE event for the whole family.

Katiland Polar Express

image

My family recently went for a little ride on the Polar Express at Katiland located right here in Temecula. Katiland is a new Christmas Tree lot that’s main feature is it’s miniature trains. There is also bounce houses, a power wheels track, holiday boutique, and photo ops with Lightning McQueen and Mater. Train rides are available during the day for a discounted cost, but the nighttime is when you get a full Polar Express experience. The Polar Express evening rides begin at 5:30pm and go until 8pm. Riders are treated with a hot chocolate to drink while waiting with their golden tickets to board. The Polar Express narrated by Liam Neeson plays while you travel on your journey. When you exit the train you are greeted by a very familiar face, Santa, who also gives out a very special gift a Jingle Bell from his sleigh!

image

image

Overall I think this is such a cute place and has so much potential. The train ride is fun and the decorations that were up were done well. It still could use some improvements. More holiday lights would be amazing and even some more decor on the trains route would help. There were a few hiccups during our train ride but the staff handled it so well and kept everyone in a good mood. If you happen to be in the area do stop by or if you live nearby it is a fun little outing. The pricing is reasonable and will help Katiland to grow and become a holiday must.

Take a ride on the Polar Express!

Christmas Parades!

image

It’s officially holiday time, which means plenty of fun events will be happening. Whether taking place in a towns historic area or out in the harbor a Christmas Parade is a great family holiday event. There are so many awesome parades coming up soon, so I made a list of ones that look really fun!

Riverside County

  • Temecula
Santa’s Electric Light Parade– Friday December 5th at 7pm. The parade travels through the center of Temecula’s Old Town district. Old Town will be a glow during this light parade, which is also commemorating Temecula’s 25th Anniversary.
  • Murrieta
Festival of Trees and Push Cart Parade– Saturday December 6th from 3 to 8:30pm. This is more than just a parade it’s also a Festival. So there will be crafts, vendors, and a chance to take a photo with Santa. All the fun will be taking place at Town Square Park. If you wish to see the Push Cart Parade only that will begin at 5pm, starting at Kalmia St./Washington Ave and ending at Town Square Park.
  • Norco
Horsetown Parade of Lights and Winter Festival– Saturday December 13th starting at 9am and ends at 9pm. Another parade and festival combination. Norco’s 10th annual Horsetown parade will feature carnival games and rides or enjoy a special breakfast with Santa all for a minimal cost. The parade itself is FREE and begins at 5pm.
  • Perris
26th Annual Christmas Parade– Saturday December 13th at 10am. The parade will begin on “D” St/4th St and will finish at City Hall. There will also be visits and photos with Santa in the Bob Glass Community Room from 1pm-2pm.

San Diego North County

  • Fallbrook
Fallbrook Chritmas Parade– Saturday December 6th at 5pm. One of the largest parades in the area which features ten marching bands from San Diego and Riverside counties as well as 100 entries that travel a mile-long route on Main Street through Downtown Fallbrook.
  • Encinitas
Droppin’ In For The Holidays– Saturday December 6th beginning at 5pm. This not your average holiday parade since Encinitas is well known for it’s surf and skate. The floats will be representations of the action sports lifestyle, so expect to see plenty of big name athletes from these action sports. The parade will go down South Coast Highway 101, beginning at “D” Street and ending at “J” Street.
  • San Marcos
Kiwanis Club of San Marcos Holiday Parade– Sunday December 7th at 1pm. The parade’s theme is “A Storybook Christmas”. So all floats will be influenced by holiday favorites. Parade begins at Palomar College and will end at the Civic Center. The Civic Center’s Holiday Village will also be going on. The Holiday Village features FREE children crafts, arts/crafts and food vendors, entertainment and visits and photos with Santa.
  • Oceanside
Parade of Lights– Saturday December 13th at 7pm This is a parade on the water happening in Oceanside Harbor. Come see sail boats, yachts, fishing boats, kayaks and dingys all covered in holiday lights as they cruise the harbor. It’s suggested to watch the parade from the fishing dock near the police station as the best location to see the parade go through twice. There is also seating areas throughout the harbor as well as restaurants that have good views.

San Diego

  • La Jolla
La Jolla Christmas Parade and Holiday Festival– Sunday December 7th at 1:30pm. Following the parade will be a fun holiday festival. The parade go down Girard Street and turn onto Prospect Street which will end at the Holiday Festival at the La Jolla Recreation Center. The festival will feature arts and crafts, food vendors, entertainment and photos with Santa. The festival is from 3:30 to 5pm and concludes with a Tree Lighting Ceremony to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the La Jolla Recreation Center.
  • San Diego Bay
43rd Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights– Sunday December 14th and 21st at 5:30pm. This years theme is “Children’s Stories” which is sure to delight spectators. More than 80 boats will be decorated and cruising the harbor. The parade travels from Shelter Island past Harbor Island, the Embarcadero, Seaport Village and Ferry Landing in Coronado. So there are plenty of different locations to pic a spot to view the parade.

Orange County

  • Dana Point
40th Annual Dana Point Harbor Boat Parade of Lights– Fridays and Saturdays December 5th, 6th , 12th and 13th at 7:30pm Another parade that takes place on the water. View boats that have been decorated for the holidays as they cruise Dana Point Harbor. Enjoy the views from a local restaurant or seating near the harbor shops. Or why not enjoy the parade by joining it! Tickets are available through Dana Wharf Sportfishing for boat rides. The parade is just one of the wonderful holiday events going on for Dana Points FantaSEA Holiday.
  • Laguna Nigel
Laguna Nigel Holiday Parade– Saturday December 13th at 10am. Laguna Nigel will be celebrating it’s 25th Anniversary this year, so the parades theme is “Silver Bells ~ Golden Dreams”. The parade takes place on Crown Valley Parkway.
  • Newport Beach
The 106th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade– December 17th through 21st from 6:30pm to 9pm. Yachts, canoes, kayaks and boats will light up the harbor during the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. The Christmas boats will cruise about 14 miles around the harbor. This is a top holiday event with people traveling far and wide to check it out.

Hope this helps in planning out which holiday events to attend this month!

Bainbridge Falls

image

A holiday tradition for my family is to go to Bainbridge Falls to enjoy the sights and music. Bainbridge Falls is a street of houses in Murrieta that all not only decorate elaborately for the holidays they also sync all the lights to music. This creates a fun FREE nightly holiday show. We make an evening out of our trip to Bainbridge Falls with some hot chocolate, warm coats and just watching my kiddos just get so excited over the extravaganza. The fun is going on now until New Year’s Eve!

image

A great feature about Bainbridge is you can enjoy it all from the comfort and warmth of your car. Simple change your radio station to 88.5fm to hear the songs that the lights are dancing to.
